ABOUT

UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Building on the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (1999), Security Council resolution 1373 (2001), calls on States to prevent and suppress the financing of terrorism, inter alia, by criminalizing the collection and provision of funds for terrorist purposes, and urges them to set up effective mechanisms to freeze funds and other financial assets of persons involved in or associated with terrorism, as well as to prevent those funds from being made available to terrorists. The UN Security Council also adopted Resolution 1373 after the 9/11 attacks. This outlined that states were not allowed to provide financing to terrorist organizations, allow safe havens to them and that information regarding terrorist groups had to be shared with other governments. For the sake of global security, the international economy, and the people of the world, the United Nations must seek to address this issue from both the security and development perspectives. Previous counter-terrorism efforts have been relatively ineffective in dealing with the nexus of charitable networks and terrorist groups. So, delegates must identify existing issues and resolve them, with particular attention given to the modern developments that have occurred.

INDIAN BOARD OF CINEMA
Indian cinema has been in existence for about more than 100 years. It has never failed to entertain us. Yet somehow the society tends to overlook the vast variety of issues going on. For this practice of ignoring the issues to end, this committee is introduced. This is a newly found committee where the delegates get to discuss various problems of the Indian cinema. During present times it is very important for each and every one of us to call out the problems and make sure that our voices are heard. After a tragic incident, a lot of speculations have risen eventually leading to a debate on nepotism. Nepotism has sailed in the industry since the very beginning. It is not a new concept, yet for the past 2-3 years it has has been discussed and debated. Nepotism might not be wrong, but what is unfair is the fact that the deserving talent is often not appreciated or acknowledged. Though the debate and controversies on nepotism have sparked anger and acknowledgment of real talents, there is still much work to be done to ensure that all actors are given a fair opportunity. It is the role of this committee to come together and discuss whether the Indian cinema is only about nepotism and weather is it fair for outsiders or not.

AGENDA: Nepotism in Indian cinema and its effect on acknowledging true talent.

ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTY MEET
There are more than 2546 registered political parties in India, out of which 8 are
national parties, 52 state parties, and 2486 unrecognized parties. The politics of the
nation has been constantly changing. Typically called before the session of the
parliament or introduction of the bill, the All India Political Parties’ Meet are
conventions that allow the diverse political groups of India to reach a consensus on
decisions of national importance. The AIPPM Committee in MUN aims to imitate this
reality by reproducing the stages of policies and jurisdiction, with delegates
representing personalities from the divergent group of Indian political parties. The
AIPPM Committee, unlike other conventional MUN committee, is characterized by
heated debates, cross talks, high levels of negotiations and political democracy,
echoes hope of change and evolution!

AGENDA: India's current International, Economical and political situation with a special
emphasis on the reviving economy and border issues.

UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL
United Nations Security Council is the heart of the United Nations which aims to keep wars of large scale a thing of the past. It is involved in solving global security issues and negotiating for peace. This esteemed committee identifies hostile actions that threaten to disrupt international peace and addresses them by recommending procedures so that all parties arrive at a consensus. Though the U.S. and Iran have lived in a state of hostility for decades, rarely have relations been as tense as in recent months. The U.S. is trying to deprive Iran of oil revenue, the lifeblood of its economy. Iran has responded by exceeding limits it agreed to on its nuclear program, and it’s been accused of attacking Saudi oil facilities and sabotaging oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. The U.S. has stepped up its military presence in the region. The risk is that a miscalculation could lead to a war that neither the U.S. nor Iran say they intend to. This crisis is a major concern for the committee.
AGENDA: Current disputes on the South China Sea with special emphasis on the
ongoing pandemic as well as border issues with neighboring countries.
